The Naval Radio Station at Fife Ness was enclosed within a barbed wire enclosure about 190m long (north-east to south-west) by a maximum of about 70m across. Three firing positions were marked, to the north-east, south-west and east. The approach to the site from the north-west was covered by a curved screen of barbed wire about 250m long, fronting a W-shaped firing trench.
