After visiting Yaiza, we walked along the prom, past the town centre and ferry terminal to Iberostar, which is adjacent to the Flamingo Beach – an enclosed beach similar to Playa Dorada.

There are two classes of rooms – standard and Star Prestige
Star Prestige have sunbeds on glass-fronted balconies.
Location
The hotel is fairly close to the ferry terminal
Local facilities
there is a car hire, doctors surgery and a small supermarket close to the entrance
supermarket had lots of drinks, and a small selection of snacks – no salads.
The Beach
There is easy access to the Flamingo Beach just along the prom. Like Playa Dorada it is protected by two arms.
However, this is a much smaller beach than Play Dorada, and the left third is marked off by a line of buoys for the use of scuba divers.
These two maps are to the same scale
Playa Flamingo
Playa Dorada
There was a party of scuba divers preparing to enter the water, so we asked them about snorkelling from the beach and fish.
They said that there were very few fish inside the arms, because it is very sandy. The best conditions are outside the arms!
Summary
Positives
Excellent hotel
Negatives
Wrong location (for snorkelling) 🙁
